Unique would be an understatement when trying to describe the
Fontanel Mansion in Whites Creek, TN. That's because this home and the
land it sits on are so many things to so many different people. If
you're a country music fan, you'll love the fact that this was the house
that Barbara Mandrell built in 1988. It was her primary home for years
and acted as a sort of gathering place and getaway for countless
country music stars. Take a tour to see and touch artifacts of all
sorts that were brought to the house by Barbara Mandrell or left there
by famous guests. Additionally, the home's current owners Dale Morris
and Marc Oswald have installed elements from their own private
collections from the artists they manage including Alabama, Kenny
Chesney, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson and more. If you're a history
buff, you'll be interested to know that the land surrounding the mansion
is where Jesse and Frank James came to hide out after the gang's
ill-fated Northfield, MN bank robbery. And a few years prior to the
James boys gathering here, the Confederate Calvary used the land as a
place to assemble during the battle of Nashville. But there's even more
to Fontanel's story than that. Come visit and tour for yourself to
experience all that is Fontanel.
The Mansion at Fontanel has been upgraded to welcome all
visitors, including those with disabilities. From
handicapped-accessible restrooms to wheelchair ramps and elevators, the
Mansion stands ready to welcome everyone.
